Science

Science sparks curiosity and wonder through the exploration of real-world phenomena and engages the sense-making process through active, learner-centered, inquiry-based experiences.

The CAL-MSCS Science Leadership Team operates from the theory of action that if science educators have access to professional learning systems and experiences that ensure equity, the students they serve will excel in science. We acknowledge the role that families, educators, communities, and systems play in building students’ scientific literacy, and we work to build the capacity of educators and their partners to provide hands-on, asset-based, and culturally responsive science learning that empowers students to ask questions, observe, and discover, enabling innovative solutions to complex challenges.
